Were did you get Whistler at ????

Is it beta ????

You can just install it on a partition, if one doesn't exist whistler should be able to create one. Windows 2000 has it's own boot manager so I'm going to assume that whislter will to.

Get Partition Magic and create a D: partition, then use System Commander as your boot manager. The boot manager in PM is ok, but it's more stripped down.

The above will set you back around $80-$100.

Your best bet is to buy another cheap/used hard drive for $40-$60. This would be the ideal way to go since Whistler is so young and ..... who knows.

I bought 2 removable hard drive cases that I use for WinMe and Win2K. I prefer to isolate my O/S this way because, I simply could not cope with a hard drive crash (or even a serious system crash).

I bought the HD cases on eB*y for $10.ea (new)

You could just get System Commander 2000 which has both a partition manager and a boot manager. You don't really need it though as I said above Windows 2000 came with its own boot manager so I will assume that Whistler has the same manager.

Just installed it, and it works fine (I'm posting from whistler right now:) ). I installed it on D: and it showed the boot choice at startup. It looks pretty good, and picked up all my hardware and installed drivers for everything. Seems kinda slow though, I still have things to fix (DMA I think is not in use)

Jacobnero: it's whistler beta 1 (build 2296) and I got it from, well let's just say I ain't on the microsoft eval list ;) e-mail me if you want it
