It's in case he hits someone - is that what you thought?

I really don't know anything about model airplanes

I have no idea how much it's supposed to cost, I just looked at the site for 5 seconds and found that page which seems like what you were looking for

Hey, everyone has an opinion, infact they're like assholes, but they all stink.

My Grandma got hit by an errant RC plane, back when I was a lot younger. It cut and gouged the crap out of her. The guy responsible paid mucho money for her expenses.

Buy the insurance, and don't listen to twerps like doze.

OP, it's your potential liablility. How do you want to handle it?

A lot of things can possibly hurt people. Using your reasoning everybody should go out and buy golf, fishing, croquet, bowling, frisbee, raquetball... insurance just in case.

Unless you are flying your plane daily at the packed public park or in some type of exhibition OP don't waste your money.

It's pretty much required by any club and for good reason. When you're hurtling around the equivalent of weedwacker engines at 50+mph in the sky it's going to do more than your average croquet ball. All he has to do is become a member of the AMA and he's insured.
