Sorry for the "ew factor", but q-tips leave much to be desired and this is a serious question... the web offers some slim pickings on this, do they go by another name I'm not aware of?

Go to any general Asian stores such as ones in ChinaTown and you will find them.

Ear candling doesn't work, never has worked, never will work.
Silly hippie crap.

I have been using those metal hair bobbing pins for years. I just swipe one from my sister since they come in 100s.

Anybody else like the feeling of using one sometimes? It's like a great itch :p

(Having had my ears done since I was a kid, an "ear spoon" is quite normal to me ^_^)

don't put objects in your ears. clean them out by pouring in a bit of diluted hydrogen peroxide (3% solution)

my kids (caucasian, mind you) have nasty ears. I use at least 1 qtip on each ear at least twice a week, and they are always a gross brown color. WTF is wrong with them?

I remember how when I was a kid my mom used to do that to me... I've been fine since without spooning my ears.

I prefer to stick a long sharp knitting needle up my ear. That way, if I slip, I will rupture my ear drum. what fun.

actually it does work if used properly, I can't stand it because of the fire on the stick that's pressed against my ear factor, but when I've got an ear infection it helps a lot.

Go to Japan and ask for a mimi-kaki. Yes, I'm serious. I have my Japanese friends bring them to me when I run low.

It works if you haven't been pushing that sh!t in with q-tips for years.

Still I don't think it works NEARLY as well as some warm glycerine and 10 minutes on your side. Crap slides right out.

I've heard many good things about the "irrigation" route. Apparently very painful and very effective.

I don't get it, how is this supposed to work? You drip hot candlewax in your ear or something?

Asian stores.

What about those ear cleaning solutions that you can get in the pharmacy?
