Where do I find those white plush satin-feel blankets in hotels?

That's a duvet. Get a nice one from a department store (that way you can check it out), plus a duvet cover that feels the way you want it.

Unless you want a used one. We just got a king size bed and our old one is a full/queen, so I guess I could stuff that into a trash bag and ship it. It dates back to my single days, and has one large beer stain. Cool?

You are going to have to upscale from WalMart.

Try a Nordstroms or other high-end department store.

Of course, Overstock gets these in as well.

After staying at a Westin for a friend's wedding years ago I ended buying the Westin:
Heavenly Bed
Heavenly Bedding set (pillows, duvet, sheets, etc.)

and the
Heavenly Dual Shower Head.

of course having a friend that worked for Westin and getting the employee family/friend discount didn't hurt either.

But the Amazon link above isn't bad at all.
