Where do I find my DNS server?

Someone please clue me in on what is being asked by this question about my wireless:

"And the connection Status> Support> Details says the DNS server is?"

I don't know where to find this. I have Windows 2000 Pro.

well if u have dsl, cable or some kind of lan setup u should see a icon in ur taskbar (i dont know about this part becuse i got xp) that had two computers and light ever so often. You double click the icon in the taskbar and then click the support tab and then hit the details button and in the list it shoud say DNS server: and the address after is ur dns server address. If you dont have the icon in ur taskbar u can go control panel-network connections (something like that)- click the icon that says local area connection-then support-details-and it will have a list with the dns server address.

There is no icon in my taskbar.
However,
Start | Settings | Newtork and Dial Up Connections |Local Area Connection | right-click
gets me choices like Status, and Properties.

Status connection gives me connection status ("connected"), duration, and speed; while activity gives me packets sent and received.
Properties gives me card info, and components used by this connection (Client for Microsoft Networks; File and Printer Sharing...; AEGIS Protocol; and Internet Protocol (TCP/IP).

The only place that mentions DNS is TCP/IP Properties, which is "Obtain DNS server address automatically". No address.

So I still don't know what my DNS server is. If I had a clue, I wouldn't be asking

Start > Run type in cmd press enter, in the command window type ipconfig /all. locate the DNS server(s) in the listing.

i think there is no "connection Status> Support> Details" in windows. they must be talking about your router.
