A more powerful tool is the System Monitor tool. Go to Start>Run and type mmc in there. This will bring up MS' new console. Go to Console up above and you should see Add/Remove Snap In. Click that and then add at the bottom. Select ActiveX control, go through the steps and then find System Monitor Control down near the bottom. Select it and any other activeX tool or tools back in the regular section and close out of the add section. Your new tools should be there now. Go ahead and save this because if you don't it won't be there the next time you want to use it. You would have to add stuff all over again.
the first time you fire up system monitor control it won't show anything. You need to press the plus sign in the window up top. Select processor from the drop down box and find the % processor time down below it. If you want to know what anything does just select it and press the explain button. You can track any other windows 2000 computer as well as just about anything to do with your own. Network traffic, etc. This is a really powerful tool.
Good luck, hope I helped.
