We had assigned seats. In alphabetical order by last name. I was usually in the row closest to the door about 5 seats back. I always had Mary in front of me, and Carrie behind me in the required classes, only changed with electives. And yes I remember their names even though its been 20 years since I always had to see them all day for 4 years. (And Carrie was always behind me since Elementary since we went to the same Elemtary, Middle school, and High school)

Where I was told to sit.

Yep. My teachers were all different...sometimes it was a random assigned order, sometimes by alphabet. Sometimes we were allowed to choose each day so some days it would be front, some days middle and some days back.

In the front because I had vision that was *just* bad enough to require glasses if in the back of the room but could manage without them if I sat in the front.

Right by the window. Just like every kid actor and anime character in history.

Depends who the teacher is.

If the teacher does their seating alphabetically, I'm usually in the back (last name starts with a Y), if the teacher doesn't care, I sit in the middle.
