I got glasses before I had a computer or played video games at all. I'm pretty sure it's hereditary since most members of my family have similar vision.

i dont know man. im still alittle skeptic about reading and computing not having anything to do with it. i mean, how often do you see a nerd or one that spend endless hours on the computer that doesn't wear glasses?

think about it, if you spend alot of time on t he computer, your eye muscle atrophy will adopt to near objects as you dont look at far object too often, and you will slowly be a nearsighted victim.

By that reasoning you should be able to whip your eyes back into shape by only looking at things that are far away for long periods of time. I think you see nerds with glasses spending endless hours with computers because they're interested in computers. Plenty of athletes have contacts, but their hobby is sports, so that's what they do.

i don't know when, it's not like it suddenly hits you... But i guess maybe since like 12... Since i've spent too much time on teh pc 🙁

I got my first pair of glasses in 4th or 5th grade because I was having trouble seeing the chalkboard. That was in 1988 or about that time, so the only computer use I was involved with was Oregon Trail during recess.

I started wearing glasses at 10 years old.

1969.

No personal computers back then. 😉

I found I could hit the baseball much better,
and I could read street signs, recognize people, etc. from a lot further away.

🙂

I didn't need glasses until I was 41. Now I wear trifocals.

I don't think it had anything to do with computers--something about touching and night.

When I was around 21. I went from about 20/15 to 20/30. Its not that bad but I go to many meetings and conferences where there are numbers projected onto screens. Its not good when you right down 80% when it actually was 30%.

I have fairly bad astigmatism. My eyes are currently 20/400. I don't recall exactly when I first started to need glasses, probably 7 or 8.

I was about 14 (28 now) when I needed glasses/contacts and my prescription is currently -3.75 and has been the same for about 5 years.
