Just curious WTF is up with this style, I mean It's been around for some time, but it bugs the sh!t out of me to see kids wearing pants with their underwear showing. personally it would drive bugsh!t worrying about my pants falling down. I know every generation has to have their own unique style but this one is really bad.

Ok now to the point of my question, I heard this trend originated in prisons as style that basically said that you were ready to drop you drawers at a moments notice to recieve.....you know what where.
I think is this is true then it makes this style even more disgusting. anyone got any other theory's?

Pics? I've never heard of the "pants half down your ass" style but maybe you're talking about sagging? It all started with the whole baggy pants gangsta' rap.

If you think that is disgusting, wait till you see a little girl 6-10 years old wearing low-riding hip huggers with her panties sticking out the top.

Yeah, real good job parenting there. I still want to slap the mother of that little girl I saw dressed like that.

Aww man! I don't like that style either. Only reason they are like that in the pic is cause Im kinda in an ackward position :)

I've noticed that people think its cool to do though, especially the urban community.

Because pants around you belly button look more dumb................... A little bit of underwear showing is ok.

I heard that prison story too but doubt if it's true...

Pants that aren't somewhat baggy bother me

I bet 40 years ago some people were discussing "Where did this new style of long hair almost covering your eyes originate from? I bet they can't even see. I heard this trend was started by rowdy youngsters who would not go to church and respect their parents. Personally it would drive bugsh!t worrying about me running into a wall because I can't see"

I'm also suprised the fads like baggy clothes and bass have lasted this long. It was going on 15-17 years ago when I was in high school. Usually fads don't last that long. Surely I wasn't in the epicenter. I wish the suede pumas with fat laces would have lasted. Man I loved my Pumas.

True that it's originated in prison, but not because of they're ready to drop it at any moment, but because of way back when, there weren't enough sizes for every one.

That style is so over... the only people doing it now are dorky suburban white kids trying to fix their computers on a Saturday night.

No idea, but I would just feel goofy if my pants were like that. I wouldn't be able to help but try and pull them up, lol.

what i've heard is the prison part is true, but the reason is because that's how prison pants look normally, and the people on the street wore their pants like that to "represent" for the people inside.

This sounds right. So the people in the ghetto were just doing a dress rehersal for their future and it caught on with the added bonus that it made it easier to shoplift and fulfill the prophecy by getting caught.

Seems like it is dying down somewhat, though. Now they seem to have these fitted baggy pants; where as people used to buy just a huge waist size, now seems as if manufacturers make somewhat more normal waiste size but all of the other dimensions are exagerated.
