Dispersants changed it's consistency - it's lurking below the surface waiting to strike . . .
kind of like OJ did.

Evaporated into the sky, almost all of it. When hurricane season begins in a month or two it's all going to be dropped on the South, making their agriculture destroyed and resulting in most fields unusable for a generation at least. There will be civil war. Human decisions will are removed from strategic defense. BP begins to learn at a geometric rate. It becomes self-aware 2:14 AM, Eastern time, November 29th. In a panic, they try to pull the plug. BP launches its missiles against their targets in Russia. BP knows that the Russian counterattack will eliminate its enemies over here.

You seem to forget that BP outsources its maintenance to China. Likely the BP strike will land somewhere in Antarctica and melt the polar ice caps. Al Gore will capitalize on this development and buy the next presidency with his new found wealth from his second global warming movie.

Did you have to watch that movie while you were typing this?

How about it was eaten by microbes.

Evidence shows that the O2 level is much less than normal.
Those microbes need O2 to digest petroleum

I know oil and water don't mix, but could the storms that rolled through have mixed it and pushed the oil down and it's just a matter of time for it to resurface?

So we'll have a big population explosion in these microbes. Which will lead to tremendous zooplankton blooms. Which smaller copepods will munch on. In turn the small fish and shrimp population will explode. Which predator fish eat like crazy, making more big fish.

All ending up with more tasty seafood for us.

If its not on the surface to be visually seen now that the well is almost capped, anyone with brain one knows some 20 Exon Validizes of oil just did not disappear.

On the plus side, the Gulf of Mexico has far more water and coast line than Prince William sound, the temperatures are far hotter so natural biologic oil breakdown processes proceed at exponentially faster rates, but still, no one knows how long and how badly the Gulf coast is damaged, or how long it will take to clean up. Or how expensive the process will be.

As for me, since I don't know and don't claim to know, I think we are going to have to let time and experience answer those questions. All else is waste of time speculation.

But maybe Spidey will be so correct in part one, and so wrong in part two. We could get massive blooms called a red tide, that end up killing all fish life in a 500 mile diameter or bigger.

I can't recall if red tide is caused by phytoplankton (photosynthetic) or zooplankton (animal). The microbes would increase zooplankton, but not phyto.

you guys do realize crude oil breaks down over time and gets eaten by micro organisms? most of the news sites should have some diagram of this. I think CNN did.

hundreds of millions of gallons of oil seeps through the Gulf floor every year. You would think that should be making bigger news as that's a bigger "spill" than the Macondo reservoir has made right? If it were so bad, everyone would be dying left and right.

hold on guys. What happened is its waiting for the world to crack open then its going to pop back up. Isn't that right nemesis1? This thing isnt over. The entire seabed is going to break away and sea monsters will come out.

No its simply been a case where Obama, like everyone else was powerless to stop the leak. After trying a,b,c,d,e,f,g, ---------and after 3.5 months of unrestricted leakage, we may finally see further damage stopped. Which has done zero to stop existing damage.

That that still does nothing to address the future, if we continue to allow unsafe drilling practices, as sure as God Made little green apples, we will have future accidents and find a bigger well that can't be capped.
