Wow

Yep thats JL hard at work...a narrow minded sterotyping wannabe.

I'll agree that this is what he is. But I wouldn't say he should be banned for it (if thats what happened, I don't know). If he really is made up and a troll like Gunslinger said, then by all means, that would be acceptable.

I would still defend his rights to speak his opinion whether I agree with it or not. And I don't, but its pretty much a rule I live my life by, I'm consistent. Its funny because I see a lot of inconsistency around here, where people will have a stance like mine stated above on some issues and not on others. At least Gatsby was that, consistent - even if its consistently an a-hole in a lot of people's eyes.

Read it, then tell me what you have done to help people other than yourself, that would entitle you to dismiss Clinton as your moral inferior.

Does "teh gayness" also make you illiterate? I'm not "dismissing him as my moral inferior" or denying his charitible donations and work, you dopey fvck. I laughed at *you* because you beleive him to be one of the world's greatest human beings based *solely* on this one act.

I don't see you lavishing praise on Jimmy Carter for his HUD work, or Bush Sr for his Katrina relief efforts, or the thousands of other people who donate and volunteer themselves to other, non-AIDS-related charities. But then again, those aren't your pet causes, now are they?

Do you even understand what the phrase 'narrow-minded' means?

Sure you are. If not in this thread, then certainly in the current thread in P&N (where you describe Clinton as a "degenerate loser" and a "dishonest adulterer" - and then prattle on about your own high moral standards in relationships). As if those comments weren't enough, your snide disdainful comments on "career politicians" in this thread clearly indicate you place such people well below you on the moral totem pole.

Charming. Are those kinds of direct personal attacks (insults) even allowed on this forum?

I believe him to be ten times the man Dumbya is. Your assertions that Clinton and Dumbya are on the same level, and that Clinton is a "degenerate loser", are outrageous and absurd.

My comments on Clinton were made in the context of your comments comparing Clinton and Dumbya:

"I cast more votes for Clinton that I did Bush. Doesn't mean they aren't both degenerate losers." - ckgunflinger

Now why would I lavish praise on Jimmy Carter in a conversation about Clinton and Dumbya?

Yes I do understand what that phrase means. Why do you ask?

OK, so he held some controversial viewpoints. But he really was one of the most interesting people here. I appreciated his eccentricity. I hope that with age, he will develop empathy for his fellow man. Where did he go?

If "controversial viewpoints" means "forum trolling", than I'd totally agree with you. If the mods decided to silently ban him, I'd applaud their decision.

I think you can judge the calibre of a community by the way it treats its most eccentric members.

There's a difference between being eccentric and being an outright boorish troll who does little but put people down.

JLGatsby does have that lack of empathy, and therefore finds it easy to criticize a wide range of people (poor people, stupid people, etc.) Hopefully as he matures he will develop a little depth in the way he sees other people. He did bring originality and flair to the forums, tho. He was one of the few people here who surprised me with an original take or perspective on the world.
blah blah blah we are all snowflakes

ZOMG! I made a comment about politicians being sleazy. Hell, the next thing you know, I'll declare lawyers to be greedy! Rock band members to be lascivious! The horror!

Sorry, it's hard for me to take comments seriously from someone who has publicly pondered how they can rid their kitchen of ants in such a way as to not harm any of them. I'm sorry my "dopey fvck" comment offended you, but it's really your own fault for being a hyper-sensitive nitwit.

You made some comments about Clinton, which clearly indicated that you think you are his moral superior. I pointed out Clinton's remarkable charity work, and asked you what it is you have done to help others in this world that would entitle you to position yourself as Clinton's moral superior. You didn't answer that.

How is that relevant to your absurd and outrageous comments on Bill Clinton?

It didn't offend me. I was just hoping you'd get a vaction for it. ;)

First you call me a "dopey fvck".

Now you are calling me a "hyper sensitive nitwit".

Isn't that kind of personal insult banned on these forums?

Personal insults are frowned upon in P&N, although many, many people still get by with them. This is OT. Mods generally frown on extremely harsh remarks, or those based on race, creed, or sexuality, but not general insults. If you took those 2 remarks personally, then that simply means the second was right on the money.

If you think being called a "dopey fvck" or "hyper-sensitive nitwit" is too extreme, then by all means, PM a mod and ask for satisfaction. Although many worse things fly by here on a daily basis, if you feel that you are somehow special enough to warrant consolation from the powers that be due to your overly-fragile ego, then so be it. This is their playground, and I have to play by their rules.

Good luck with your whinings! :wine:
