OK, so he held some controversial viewpoints. But he really was one of the most interesting people here. I appreciated his eccentricity. I hope that with age, he will develop empathy for his fellow man. Where did he go?

I hope that with age he loses the ability to use a computer.

That would make the internet a better place.

(Though frighteningly enough I did agree with him on quite a few things, he was still a damn troll.)

If "controversial viewpoints" means "forum trolling", than I'd totally agree with you. If the mods decided to silently ban him, I'd applaud their decision.

I think you can judge the calibre of a community by the way it treats its most eccentric members.

There's a difference between being eccentric and being an outright boorish troll who does little but put people down.

JLGatsby does have that lack of empathy, and therefore finds it easy to criticize a wide range of people (poor people, stupid people, etc.) Hopefully as he matures he will develop a little depth in the way he sees other people. He did bring originality and flair to the forums, tho. He was one of the few people here who surprised me with an original take or perspective on the world.

He's a complete asshat. I'm glad he's gone. Hopefully, he'll stay gone.

it is naive to think that empathy can increase with life experiences?

i too hope that he returns.

i've learned a few things while gathering evidence to refute his ignorant claims.

plus he's just flat-out entertaining.
