Where did I go wrong?

PostgreSQL is a no go on windows 2000.

I followed the instruction to the teeth, but all I get is "Cannot find the file 'initdb' (or one of its components). Make sure path and filename are correct and that required libraries available.

And, change the path to the appropriate directory where initbd run yield the following result:
C:\pgsql\bin>initdb
initdb does not find the file 'C:\pgsql\share\postgresql\postgres.bki'.
This means you have a corrupted installation or identified the
wrong directory with the -L invocation option.

I extracted all beta files to C:\pgsql & am now missing postgres.bki file, with home path mapping not working. Maybe it is time to go back to install it with Cygwin :(

You could be right, however I would love to see it run on a Windows box & compare preformance. And, beside that, most of my clients are Windows centric, therefore they would prefer it on a Windows box instead of linux.
