When the batteries die yes. My father has a pacemaker. They are good for about 7-10 years. People go in for bi annual check-ups where they monitor the devices function and usage patterns.

At a toxic waste dump? If it has an atomic battery I would assume you would not be able to dispose of it legally in your trash bin. Similar to smoke detectors.

I will ask why are the specs posted on the back?

Does the doc look at each one like I do when buying something at Best-buy?

I would think they could just put a model and serial number on it and move forward.

It's a dummy.

It's the exact size and weight of an actual unit that they show to patients so they have a better idea of what they are getting.

My wife is a cardiac nurse and gets cool things on occasion.

Ionization detectors have TINY amounts of Americium-241 (an alpha emitter) that are harmless unless you swallow the tiny pill in the ion chamber and even then it's nothing like say licking the powdery paint on a radium disk! :Q

I've been in touch with someone that can get me atomic cells but the prices are astronomical!
