Where can I shred thousands of docs?

My business is being investigated so I've got a lot of work to do asap.


Just kidding, I've been scanning to pdf , where can I shred these so I don't have to buy a heavy duty shredder that I'll rarely use again.


Solution: There is a Secure Eco Shred (nat'l franchise) within a few miles where I can drop by and have them shred my docs for $8-10 (they charge by the weight.) :thumbsup:

They can also come to your place, altho the truck requires a $75 minimum charge.

Considered that, and all it takes is a little piece and a breeze to take some of it up to someones roof.

This was my method ay work until today. Work for a home remodeling company, boss got an old oil tank, about the size of a sedan. Put a door on the end, a chimney on it, and started usin it for scrap wood and office trash, lotsa copies of original customer contracts and such.

Until the PA. Dept. of Enviromental Protection came to visit today, who knew a business couldn't burn trash/material 30 to 40 feet from a major highway

I would think there is a city ordinance against doing it anywhere in chicago, same goes for leaves etc.

Chicken wire on the top of the barrel will curtail that from happening. Have the hose nearby as well. You could soak them in water for a while and then start feeding them in the garbage disposal or something as well.

We're outside city limits, DEP guy said burnin is ok if it was a home, just not at a business

Don't have one. It could probably be a fire risk tho since papers tend to float up and maybe make it out of the chimney, and particularly in the 90 degree weather it wouldn't take much to get a roof going.
