Where can I set default browser?

I've got IE, Netscape 6, and Opera running on this box, and I'm wondering where I can go in Win 98 to set the default browser. In the past, whenever I've installed a new browser, it sets itself as the default. I just don't want to be reading mail in Outlook, click on a link, and have Netscape open.

Can I manually change this setting in msconfig somewhere?

Thanks!

Control panel-internet options has a 'default browser' selection box.

Plus I know the older versions of Netscape has a option for being set as default broswer in the options dropdown setting of the browser. I am not 100% about your version of Netscape that you listed.

Thanks!

There is a selection box under the "programs" tab which says "Internet Explorer should check to see if it is the default browser." Not sure what that means, but I guess it makes IE the default browser. That would serve my purpose just fine right now.

But surely somewhere there the default browser info is stored and can be edited. I'm thinking maybe in the registry somwhere.

Anyone?

Let's say that IE is currently the default and you want to make
Netscape the default. You goto the control panel IE Options and
1st uncheck the default box.
Then goto start|programs|netscape|User Profile Manager.
Delete all profiles (even the default).
Netscape will say you need a profile manager and set up a new
default one. It will also make itself the default browser!
I've not used Opera.

Fellas, you know you can just go to: Tools/Internet options in your toolbar to get there instead of going through the control panel.;)
