Where I work we are upgrading our CRTs to LCD ( Acer AL1717bbmd 178$ shipped each). This project was brought up by me and I guess im supposed to pick the LCD (which I chose the Acer) and get rid of our old CRTs (dont want em sitting around). We have Dell PC's, but since some of the older ones have CRT's we are trying to sell them, I was thinking craiglist? The director here said I could ebay them...I dont want to do shipping for this many monitors though.

Is there a website where you can auction of bulk orders like this? They are working monitors, nothing wrong with them, except we dont need em!

craigslist, but in reality you're going to have to pay people to take them. Nobody wants CRTs anymore.

I tried to give away a 17" free in FS/FT and no one wanted it.

CRTs are worthless now, almost everyone wants LCDs.

yup crts are worthless. used ones are even worse, tehy fade with age so the image is suffernig, they use more power and well shipping the heavy bastids kills any chance at a decent price.

you can't simply put... nobody wants them for $$ and shipping is prohibitive even if you find a customer. Not to mention, average CRTs aren't worth anything.
not only that, you have to pay to have them disposed of properly.

What we did:
Offer to employees for free (FREE I said, not "for cheap")... pay $10 per monitor to disposal service to pick up, remove and dispose.

You could try donating to a local school system. A lot of them have really tight technology budgets.

$85 or so SHIPPED for my current 19" Compaq S920 from...ugh...whatsheirname..i always forget this companie's name. They sell refurbished monitors.

I'd LOVE to have a 21"++ widescreen CRT.....aware it would be a MONSTER to move...even that 19" barely fits in a small car in a box.

Ugh, as others have tried to tell you, would you PLEASE offer them free to your employees as a perk, then move your lazy ass through perhaps the blue pages of your phone book or Google to find a needy charity near you who could put them DIRECTLY to use?

You have a rare chance to do good on two levels here, at minimum effort.

DO IT!!

In other words, we have no idea what kind of CRT's the OP is talking about...my mistake:D

I read it wrong by looking at the model number first and assuming that they had to sell 34 17'' crts...
