Where can I rent a manual transmission car?

Last time I went to Washington DC, I presented an upgrade certificate (free from my travel agent) at Dollar Rent-A-Car and got a V-6 Mustang with a stick. I generally dislike V-6 Mustangs and F-bodies, but it was still more fun than the average rental. There ARE cars with sticks available from major rental companies if you look for them.

Frankly it would probably be more cost-effective to BUY this guy an '82 Accord or something than to risk damaging your 540.

Almost all large car rental agencies do not carry manual shift cars. But if you went to a more exotic car rental place...eg: Porsche, Viper etc.. =)

Someone told me that if you go to a Saturn dealer,
tell 'em you wanna manual transmission car,
they'll teach you how to drive it and let you test drive it.

I have no idea if it's true or not.

You could just sit in the back and laugh. 😉
