Greetings!
Quick question im looking to obtain a GeForce GTX 580M, do you guys know any online place i can buy it from?

GTX 580M is a mobile GPU, which cannot be purchased (unless you are buying a new laptop). Are you looking for a video card for a desktop, or a laptop?

Actually I have an Alienware m18x and I have the 560M but I want to put a dual 580M, I spoke to Dell as well as my local Alienware reseller they told me it can be done 100%. The problem is I dont live in America or Europe and the reseller is selling this for an outrageously high price they claim its customs duty but i doubt it. So I figured perhaps I can find 2 580Ms and then give it to the authorized service center here. They told me if i can find the GPUs then they would no problem replacing it, at a small fee (ofcourse haha)

The laptop is an absolute beast, its not even full specs, but still you know I like to have my rigs at the highest possible hardware level 😛

ive never seen mobile parts sold without the whole laptop before

^ this, upg paths (for laptops) usually means bringing your laptop back to where you bought it, and asking them how much it costs to upg it.

yup did that and they gave me a price that costs as much as the bloody laptop! ridiculous, so im gona go straight to alienware and see whats up I guess

The configouration you bought probably cost around 1999$-
The configouration with the 2 x 580m can run upto around 3000$ atleast (or more depending on extras)

I wouldnt be surprised if you wanted to upg, and it cost around as much as the intire thing initially cost.

Your not being ripped off (probably not by huge amounts anyways), those are just the prices of laptops that level (and you buying Alienware brand).

Well in all honesty my laptop is 2.2 GHz, 560M SLi, 16 GB ram. I'm extremely happy with it but at the same time theres the 580M at the back of my mind constantly. You reckon it's a worthy upgrade anyways? Laptop is purely for gaming so ram is not a priority

Last I checked, Dell didn't use standard MXM, so I'd be very careful thinking you can use anything other than a Dell OEM'ed part.
