How big a block do you need?

Around here many places that sell crushed ice also have blocks, but they're not all that big... I know I couldn't fit on one.

I might be wrong but...

1. Make a lot of small cubes for drinks
2. Mix with ice-cold water
3. Add salt (un-known quantity)

Heard it somewhere, the salt should make it freeze.
:D LOL

Look up "Manufactured Ice" in your yellowpages. We usually get those blocks for ice-shots at a party...you carve a path down the block, put the block on an angle, and pour liquor down them to a waiting mouth. :D

PayPal me the postage, and I will mail you some genuine Alaskan ice! I can also send you some free snow, too, but the Lemon variety costs extra. ;)

Salt lowers the freezing temp, thus keeping things from freezing. That's why they salt roads during the winter (to keep ice from forming).

Stupid me.
Then something else should be added. I know I've seen it somewhere.

btw, you cover up the top of the ice with clothe of whatever sort to help the freezing of your stuff ... helps for a bit.... feels good afterwords... plus you can have someone help "warm you up" :D

I know for a fact that some grocery markets sell ice in blocks. Although they're not huge, they are large enough to sled on.

I second that suggestion that you cover the top of the block with a towel or something because it starts getting a little messy when the ice begins to melt.

There is a difference between keeping them cool, and sitting on a block of ice :)

Also...there's the little thing(pun intended) called shrinkage :Q

Be careful. My friend dislocated his shoulder doing this.

Ice blocking is so cool. Its fun doing it on golf courses with big hills. Hey, there isn't much else to do in Hawaii. We used to get blocks at Cheveron, although it was right near the harbor. We got them about 18 inches long, by 12 wide, by 8 high. Oh yeah, let the good times slide on, heh.
