I have always considered getting a bike but I dont know how to ride one. And since I cant ride one, how can I buy one? Anyone know anything about this? I've been looking at cheap alternatives for transportation...to school and to work and the Kawasaki 250R is pretty damn cheap. Anyone have any experience with this bike? Anything to share?

my buddies went to motorcycle school. if you pass the class, and the written test from dmv, you get your license.

the website is http://www.msf-usa.org

anycase.. the Ninja 250R is a great starter bike.. I highly recommend it. Best thing, you can sell it for what you almost paid for it. Get the 250R, ride it for a few years (you need atleast 2 riding seasons to be able to get to the next level).

Go for it, I ride a 2001 Suzuki GS500, now if I had the money I will plop down for the 2004 GS500F.

Is that legal to drive on the road/highway?....lol...

The ET4 is highway legal in CA, it has just about enough HP to hit the highway. 12 hp (cut off is 11.5).

CA requirements is 175cc or 12hp.

I frankly think the new vespa's are expensive for the price, if you are going to get a scooter for the streets, i like the one on http://www.bajajusa.com

TGG is dead on...you can sell the 250 for what you paid for it. Those 250s are always in demand b/c it's a great starter bike. I suggest signing up for the MSF course ($25 in Michigan) and you don't have to worry about dumping your own bike...they provide them for you.

When you're ready to get serious about purchasing or have any questions, feel free to PM me...i'm more than happy to help :)

just call 1-800-cc-rider. the give you course locations. i dont' know how old u are but if your under 21 it's hella cheap...like ~100 bucks. if your over 21, it can run up to 250. the course i took was 16 hours. 8 hours of classroom time and then 8 hours of riding. classes are usuallyheld on consecutive sats.

good luck, and be safe.

also, if you don't want to wait...get your permit. in cali, you can rid your w/ your permit till sunset on local streets. good for practising.

you can get lessons anywhere.

And I highly suggest you get lessons. It takes a long while before you're comfortable.
