i envy you. ive wanted to go there for years. where are you staying? a hotel or vacation rental?
 
I have heard Tobago is better than Trinidad. But I was in Trinidad a few years back for work and it was pretty sketchy. I was told to basically not leave the hotel without an escort or a trusted local. I also had a driver everyday I worked at the jobsite.

But if you like chicken there was a KFC on just about every corner. I asked the driver why so many KFC's, and he said "who doesn't like chicken?". They are also crazy ass drivers. My driver from the airport was nuts. Honking and yelling most of the trip at other drivers.

But hey, have fun!
 
Check AAA if you have one around, I work at a bank and our exchange rates aren't great and we're pretty slow about getting it converted. Might just be this organization though.

Most W.I. islands have the same rep but then again when they come here they are told the same thing.The KFC thing well that's just the only fast food that really caught on down there.

They did have this strange BBQ place on the side of the road setup under some tents that was pretty good and it was always packed with people.
