Where can I get VHS releases early?

Planet of the Apes comes out (again) on VHS next tuesday. My friend's birthday is next monday and I really want to get it for her. Are there any places that would have this in stock early?
 
Most places get the stock well in advance. You probably would have better luck at a smaller mom n' pop type of operation rather than going to Circuit City or Best Buy. I've done it many times before with CD's, and if you ask nicely, most places would be happy to help. Especially if you explain your situation.
