I just picked up a PNY TI4600 and it did not come with the tech demos on CD. nVidia's website does not have them for download either. I am looking for the Wolfman and Bugs demo in particular. Also, I was wondering if they came on the VisionTek's CD?

Thanks

The Visiontek CD included some of the demos but not all of them. Specifically it included:

The Underwater Creature
The Tidal Pool
Wolfman
Toy Soldiers
The morphing Bubble
Grace- aka dancer
The Squid

And from the GF3 tech demos
The Chameleon

The total size for all these demos is about 430mb or so. Considering I'm on a dial-up I can't see anyway for me to put these out there....perhaps someone with a fast connect could toss them out for the PNY people?

Same here. Hopefully someone can get these demos out - I can't find them anywhere at all, and the PNY card comes with almost *NOTHING*. It's really sad, actually. A fair warning to folks buying the PNY card - it does NOT have the philips video processing chip, it does NOT have tv in (only out), and comes with NO software but the drivers.

The VisionTek is the same price and comes with all of the above and more.

BUT. If anyone can point us PNY folks to the demos, that'd be great. So far I haven't seen anything on my GeForce 4 except that it runs faster than my old GeForce 2.

in my experience (gf1, gf2, gf3) the nVidia demos suck.
some wont run with certain drivers or DX versions, some will never run.
some of the demos from the gf1 wont run anymore on a gf3 etc.

they are cool, but a huge freakin waste of time.
im not even gonna bother with them anymore.

go play a game ;)

Shame that few if any games will ever incorporate any GF3/GF4 features.

I guess some of us do kind of appreciate the technology that goes into these cards and do want to see what it can really do. The tech demos are the only place you can really see that envelope pushed. Even the really good games are blocky and pedestrian. Q3A? UT? come on.

I'd like to see some games actually -use- these cards instead of just be 'compatible' with them.
