If it's not a double blind test, I am not trusting anyone that spent $100 on wiring for a entry level vehicle. What are they going to say, yeah I am a retard?

The 'Big 3' upgrade does help when you are adding major stereo gear.

well, the people that posted their results made their own wires for $20-30...i'm not looking to spend much more than that myself.

I understand that...myself I am doing my own cables, it's really not that hard, but I have the advantage of having a ton of tools.

You just follow the factory wires and lay you own bigger cable in the same path.

I will say the crimper I bought to do 1->8AWG cable was about $40 itself though, but I have used it many times.

If you have no tools or materials, an $80 kit isn't a bad deal...if you have it all you can save about 60%+

also, what the hell do you use to crimp a terminal onto a 4 gauge wire? my wire crimper is only good for smaller gauges.

when I used to work with large wire (4/0, 2/0, and 2 gauge) we had an battery powered hydraulic crimper

there are tools that look like bolt cutters from Greenlee, but the anvils are a good choice for the home user....

looks like a big V with a V going into it...you hit it with a hammer...it's crimped.

"walmart....8 gague schosh kit for $20"

The wire the comes in the Scosche kits is crap. Very low stand count and not very flexible makes the cable a pain to work with.
