Trying to think of the best place to get all this info...

Can i contact the IRS and get my past filings?

Why would the IRS have all of that information? They only thing they require you put on the return is your job title.

GWB knows everything you've done since 2001, but I've never heard of an agency that provides a detailed employment history report.

Post a follow up if you do find a source for this.

It's up to you to keep records like that.. that's why you are always supposed to keep an updated resume.

I winged it and got a job. Simplified ot the city of employment, best guess on supervisor names, etc.

Did you burn all your W2s? Maybe the dept. of homeland security has the info you want.

I would think I should be able to come up with most of this by sitting down with a notebook and a couple of cups of coffee somewhere. What I couldn't reconstruct, I could probably call people and figure out. Past coworkers, my mom, etc.

I actually have called my mom and asked her what I was doing between summer of 1993 and summer 94...
(oh, and I've had between 15 and 20 jobs, btw).

Don't they get copies of all my W2's? That should have the addresses...

And to those who mention keeping an updated resume, sure thats great for the recent jobs, but when i have to list every single job since i was born, its a different kind of animal and not something my resume will help with, considering my resume only has the last 3.

If you don't keep that information about yourself, why should someone else?

The IRS would only be a good place to get past returns which may or may not have some of that information.

Is this for clearance? Shouldn't the place you're sending this information be able to help you or offer suggestions?

TSC? I think the important thing is that you provide all you can, they figure out the rest.

The Social Security Administration. I occasionally get letters saying how much I've paid in and I thought I saw one where it listed each job I had. I could be (and probably am) wrong though. Might be worth a look...

Yeah, the SSA should have the information regarding the names, addresses, dates (and maybe even how much you got paid) of all your past "over the table" jobs.
