My teacher always told me to go with
w/g
g/w
w/o
bl/w
w/bl
o/w
w/br
br/w

for both connections when using a hub he said it causes less interference.
But when wiring where others are going to wire I go with the standard.
and that is a real nice price on a crimper...happen to know where I can get a cable tester cheap?

I saw a cheap set a Lowes last night! They were $15. I might get them. I only need to make a few cables.

My teacher always told me:

Go to Radio Shack and pay $25 for a 5 ft. cable because it's high quality.

I priced a 100 foot cable at compusa ..they wanted 78 bucks for it. I have a freind that is a manager there and it still would cost me 28bucks with his discount. So Im looking to do it my self.

check out pccables. you can get cables, plugs and a crimper from them.

i got plugs there myself. can't beat that price.

oh, whatever cabling you get, always get plugs for solid conductors

and feel free to use this
