i have a wireless router but i am using the wired only for now, i scanned Bestuy the retail stores and such and its quite expensive...i was wondering if it is possible to obtain cheaper online from a good vendor also a vendor who accepts PAYPAL PLEASE if possible and ships fast with small or no fee at all

i am connecting 2 comps each respectively in a different room they are about EDIT360 inches(sorry) apart so i should settle for cable longer in length? so i can run it against the walls where it can't be seen? not sure how long

thanks in advance!

^ ^ ^ ^ I've used the same ethernet cable but in smaller lengths.

But thats only 100 feet. For what you want your going to have to do is invest a small sum of money into a spool of cable and crimp it your self. You can get spools of cable for under $40 shipped on eBay....cable ends for like 10 bucks or less shipped...crimper took for around 15 bucks

edited sorry it wasn't 360 ft sorry kinda sleepy today its inches

EDIT:thanks tank but that seems expensive even worse with shipping Newegg does take paypal but you are still stuck in using CC which i want to avoid

what is spool?😱 do i have to make the cable or something or are you just saying they carry these cables in long lenghts?😕

Compgeeks.com has a 200' feet of Cat5 on a spool with 50 connectors and wire-snaps for 22$. This is by far THE BEST deal I have seen.

Try your local Home Depot or Lowe's. A few years ago i had to wire the house and they were selling the cat 5 cables very cheaply. I had to put the terminals at the end though (wires were sold in spools so i had to cut mine at the length i wanted). Putting the terminals are easy, there are tons of guides out there, just google it.

in my house i had solid core cat 5 in the walls with standard keystone jacks, but i had to move all my comps so i just got a couple of those 100ft patch cables, and then i found wallplates that had a jack on both sides so that you just used a patch cable in the walls. i believe they had plates like that at frys also.

I bought 400 feet at Lowes for 20 cents per foot. It was cat5-e and it was a good deal.

A good crimper (note: good one) can be as much at 50-80 dollars. Ends can vary, I paid 14 bucks for 50 of the good ones
