The ones that plug into the motherboard and give you readings through the bios and Motherboard Monitor, etc.

Depends. Who makes your MB? The owners manual or their website will probably specify how (if you can) to read system/CPU temperature and how monitoring is done.

In some cases you can download a utility at the mobo maker's website that will read temps off the mobo and/or the CPU, as mentioned. Or you can get temp readers with gauges at Radio Shack and expose the thermistor.

I have an Asus P2B-F. It can read Motherboard temperatures, but not CPU temperatures. In the motherboard manual, it states how to put a temperature gauge on the CPU. It says an ASUS P2T-Cable is needed. Where can I get one, does anyone know?

I went with the external radio shack idea, and like the way it works. I took the temp sensor that came with it and got rid of the little casing, then used a little tub silicon to stik it to the heatsink at a point as close to the proccessor as possible.
