I recently bought a Sega Homestar, and the seller made no mention of it needing an adapter because it was made with a Chinese one:

From what I can tell, that's also considered a UK plug. Where can I get an adapter or converter that will let me plug it into a generic United States outlet? My Google-fu failed.

Most stores like Radio Shack have travel adapters. Your problem is that in the US, you'll likely find US to UK adapters (not UK to US adapters). But it is worth the trip to the store to see what they have in stock.

Is the cord removable? If so then, the best way is just to tell us what the receptacle looks like on the product and we can find you the right cord.

Thanks guys. Do I need to be concerned about voltage conversion?

Just thought about that. China is always 220V. In the US you'll have 220V, but only in special locations (like for your oven or your clothes drier). You can always put in a 220V line, but that gets expensive if you can't do it yourself.

China is also 50 Hz instead of 60 Hz, which may or may not be a problem.

Although, most electronics now have a universal power supply anyways so it might not matter.

does this have a wall wart? if you can just match the barrel connector and the voltage/current printed on that you can just buy a new adapter and not have to worry about 220/120

That's British, not Chinese as far as I can tell.

It's 220/230V isn't it?

Yes it does. It may be easiest to do just what you said. Which is why I asked if the plug was removable.

Thanks again, everyone. I didn't look at it closely last night because I wanted to keep it nice and packed in case I needed to send it back. Now I feel silly. I probably just have an AC adapter around somewhere.
