Where can I get a adapter that converts internal USB headers to external connectors?

I'm getting an front panel memory card reader that connects via a internal usb pin header. However, I don't have any internal usb headers, but I do have a few extra external usb ports. Anybody know of anything that will convert a usb internal pin header to a usb external connector?

I guess I could hack up a usb cable and solder things together but I'd rather not do that. Thanks!

I had to look hard to find a front panel media reader that didn't use external USB connectors. Which one are you getting? The only one I could find that used internal USB headers was the Soyo BayOne Extreme. I'd like to know about others.

Enermax makes one that uses external USB ports.

Anyway, xpcgear.com sells what you're looking for here. I'm sure other places have them also.

http://www.frontx.com also sells a cable like the one kranky linked to. But are you sure you have no internal USB headers? I don't recall any recent mobo that doesn't have at least one dual port header (mine has two headers for a total of 4 ports via headers). If your header is already being used for front-panel (or PCI slot cover ports) connections, you could shift that connector to one set of pins thus freeing up one port for your reader. Most good memory card readers take up the full internal pair of headers - one to power the card reader and the other is passed thru to a front USB port.

Wow guys, thanks for the responses. I'm impressed, I searched for a good half hour and didn't come up w/ anything.

Kranky, I am indeed getting the soyo bay, mainly b/c it has mem card reader and usb port on it. The cheap price doesn't hurt either. I've mainly looked on newegg, but most of the front panel mem card readers didn't have usb ports as well. Well, the Koutech one did, but there were mixed reviews of it. I'll have to look at that enermax.

I'm sure the mobo I have doesn't have the header. It's an old 815 that only has USB1. I added in a Adaptec USB/Firewire card. Older models used to have an internal header, but the newer ones don't for some reason.
