Kind of dumb of them. If they made the ones people WANT to buy they wouldn't have to lie about the PS3 being sold out - it actually would be sold out.

If it is anything like the PS1/PS2, it will have a proprietary AV Multi OUT. You could use a standard optical cable for audio or HDMI for video, the but the component out would be proprietary.

It has the same mutli-out as the PS2, so if you have a PS2-to-component connector you can use that.
