Where can I find specs (TDP) on chipsets?

I'm curious as to find what kind of cooler is sufficient and any TDP tables (even if interpolation is required) to see how hot it would really get.

j/k i heard the P35 is at most 15-20W, so im guessing 20-25W at most on the NB?

Well the reason I'm wondering is because as you know the motherboard I have (not in front of me yet!) has no built on cooler but instead a cooler that is mounted to the chipset and this cooler interferes with the way larger heatsinks (TRUE) are mounted.

I've found pictures of the TRUE mounted rotated 90 degrees to the right (fan blowing UP toward PS) but I really want the TRUE pointing backward.

Of course the real solution is to waterbock both NB and CPU and I can do that but (how hot do you think it would run dry? :laugh: )

Looks like the DFI board is going to be dead (for use) before I even get it.

or you can use a HR-05 SLI, or the evercool, or you can use a waterblock like i did, <poke poke>

Well the HR-05 SLI appears to have lots of flexibility to be able to rotate upon its mounting axis as seen here:

On the SB would seem overkill but if it would fit. See I have to look at drawings of this stuff and do the math because if it doesn't fit/work I have to wait longer to get parts that do - a lot longer than you landlubbers. Adding to the complexity is my shoreside address is changing from Miami back to NYC as of next week. :Q

You can use the 2nd PCIe x16 slot for video card unless you plan on CrossFire or any other PCIe card that requires x16 bandwidth. It's one of the things that I made sure before purchasing this board. (that the 2nd PEG works the same as the 1st one when it comes to graphics)

That's a slick cooler however I cannot afford to lose the upper PCI-E slot as the movie card uses two spaces and I need all three PCI slots. I'm either going to have to settle with the TRUE turned 90°CCW or just keep my current board.

I jsut picked up an HR-05 SLI IFX for my old DFI NF4 because I can and I have to say. IT'S HUGE! I swear I have CPU heatsinks laying around from back in the day that are half the size of my new chipset cooler. It is extremely flexible, more-so than my Jing Ting ChipForce to my surprise and a little easier to mount to boot. I can't really say how well it performs as the system is awaiting my finished chiller to boot.

there intel spec sheets for it on their web site.

i never checked the x48, but the p35 is 15 watts, the g33 (which is the same die as the p35) is 12.5 watts on integrated video, 15 watts on pci-e video (apparently powering the pci-e slot uses more power than usign the igp)


its another 6-7 watts for the ich8 and ich7 and such. not sure what it'd be for the x48 but i'm assuming more since it has pci-e 2.0 and a more powerful south bridge etc.
