...aren't those standard notation for x/y/z in any vector calculus/physics textbook?

Those look like cross products of the standard basis vectors, which are represented as i, j, and k in many textbooks. Actually they have a carrot symbol above them ^ , but I don't think that's possible to accurately represent in this post.

If it's any help:
ixi=0
jxj=0
kxk=0

ixj=k
jxk=i
kxi=j

jxi=-k
kxj=-i
ixk=-j

to remeber the bottom ones think of a circle with ijk similar to this:
..i..
j...k

moving ccw gives you a positive value equal to the third component
moving cw gives you a negative value equal to the third component
