individuals, banks, etc.

look int eh yellow pages. will be harder to find on a bank holiday.

but will it be possible tomorrow? banks are closed.

not exactly sure what i'm looking for. from the looks of this, it seems notaries can offer their services outside the presence of an institution, such as a bank?

so i can find one and go to their residence and sign papers?

Most any law firm will have someone who is a notary public.

so hypothetically, if i were in your state, i could go to your house tomorrow and solicit her services?

how much does she charge?

is this for a loan closing?

yes, but this is hypothetical since you're not in nj.

i'm just asking because some sites i googled appear to be individuals and not corporate institutions such as a bank, law firm, etc.

She is a legal secretary at a law firm. She does not charge for her service. It is just convenient to have someone in the office that is a notary public. The law firm paid for her seal and annual bond. (Less than $75)

So hypothetically if you were to come by to solicit her services she would do it for free, the only problem is her seal is at the office.

No the docs can be notarized in any state. The notary just has to be physically in the state he is commissioned when he notarizes the docs.

I do VA and DE properties all the time. The borrower just has to come over the state line since it illegal for me to notarize anything if I am not in MD at the time of the notarization.
