I went to my bank, wachovia to convert dollars to euros but they said they would have to mail it off and I really dont have time for that. Is there anyplace where I can convert dollars to euros that would only take 1 or 2 days? Yeah, I know I waited til the last minute.

Are you going to Europe? Just use an ATM when you get there, you will get a better exchange rate and it is quick and easy.

What are you going to do with the Euros?

Take them to Europe? Give them to someone?

Seriously...go to an ATM and use your ATM card... It will work as long as it's a visa check card. Don't ever use foreign exchange places. They will hit you with a 15% service charge for the conversion. You'll get about 65-70 Euros per $100 US. If you use your ATM, you'll get closer to $75-80.

One thing to add....if you were at JFK or somewhere, they do have a better rate for US to Euros than anywhere else. Once you fly over there, they'll rip you a new one if they can.

AAA did it for me when I went to Italy. I wanted to be sure I had at least a small amount of cash before I flew over. I ended up getting most of my cash through ATMs, but a buddy of mine's card didn't work there - so don't 100% count on it working.
