Where can I buy isopropyl alcohol?

Does anyone know where I can buy isopropyl alcohol? I searched for it in walmart, fred meyers, radio shack, ect and couldn't find it. Need it to wipe heatsink and cpu from oil from hands to make sure the best heat transfer.

WalMart should have it. Any supermarket or drug store should have it.

Go to a drug store. I dunno what you guys have in America (Rite-Aid rings a bell?), but pretty much any drug store should carry it. You may need to ask the pharmacist because bums often buy and drink rubbing alcohol, so they hide it from them. Try and get 99% if you can.

I think you could find it even at your local convenience store (at least you can here, out in the boon docks ).

Look in the health and beauty section of any drug store/supermarket, and if you cant find it, you may need to set up an appointment immediately with your optometrist

Isopropyl alcohol is just your run-of-the-mill rubbing alcohol. You might have it somewhere in the house. First Aid kits have cotton pads already soaked it that stuff -you can use that.

What about a lint free cloth? Are cotton clothes lint free?

cotton cloth like the common dish rag, is fine. if you really want to be cool, then you could get some camera lens paper but a cheapy alternative is a coffee filter as they are totally lint-free...and them's everywhere

inept, rubbing alcohol will kill you if you drink it, your body turns it into formaldehyde, you go blind and then possibly die, i think you are talking about cough syrup

but yeah any supermarket will sell isoproypl alcohol, its in the first aid area

he is thinking of ethyl alcohol....ccoh, same as the alcohol in liquor and beer.

However they put nausiants (sp) in such alcohol.

Bums could drink it 10 years ago, not now.
