I'm looking for a 2.4b Northwood with a C1 stepping and I can't seem to find any advertised as such.

TIA

Yeah I saw that, but I was wondering what I could expect to pay retail before I start dickering on FS/FT.

I know the prices at Newegg, mwave, etc., but I doubt if I could ask for specific steppings from them.

Plus, with a retailer I can pricematch it with AMEX 90 days down the road. I'll be buying it at May prices.

squisher...check out my p4 c1 tracker thread in cpu forums...do search for tracker and you will see a few links to places selling guaranteed c1's....You can find them for 210.00 for retail before shipping....

Also newegg and a handful are starting to sell them with more frequency so it is not as much a stretch to get one....less so in a few weeks when the price drops and likely they will go through the rest of their old inventory...

pcnut has C1's for $225, atacom.com has em for $225 also. I'd take the one in FS/FT any day.;)

Nope!!! atacom is 209.95 for full retail chip before shipping....I think they have decent shipping rates so I don't think it will hit 225...

check this thread...Look Here!!!

I would always try your own plus if that one is oem I would go retail for the added safety of it...you don't know how he ran it or whether he knows it isn't one of the good c1 overclockers....Fun part of ocing is taking the chance and trying it yourself on a blank slate!!!

If you can get him down a bit I would....See if he can tell you how it oc'd....Heck you can buy a 2.4b retail for 190-195 range and get a c1 anyways with newegg I believe....

Well, ask and yea shall receive.

Duvie, you couldn't have done me better if you had served it up on a platter.

I bow my head in shame at my lack of searching prowess, but I raise my head with a soon to be 3000+MHz smirk.
