Thanks, I will check out my local stores and Costco.

To be clear, I have no idea of pricepoints or brands of cheap vodka. If someone didn't know anything about Scotch and asked for a good recommendation of brand and how much they can expect to spend, I wouldn't tell them to go to the Scotch section of a store and find a bottle they can afford and buy that. I'd tell them maybe look at the Macallan 12 and they run x dollars.

I wasn't trying to be difficult, guys. Just looking for some advice.

You asked for the cheapest. Not the best value. If you asked for the best value then I could agree with you. The cheapest is found by looking at the big plastic jugs and finding the cheapest one. The cheapest is simply a numerical thing.

Scotch is different though. It's highly variable; in quality, characteristics, and price. Vodka tastes like crap at every price point, and when you're buying the cheapest, it doesn't really matter. The prices will be similar at every store, and the bottom shelf brands all taste about the same.

What state are you in? That'll make a HUGE difference in what "cheap" ends up being.

Around here, I can get a 1.75 of cheap vodka for $10-$12 in almost any grocery store.
In states where liquor is sold in state-run liquor stores...that'll probably be $20 or more.

I don't drink vodka...gives me a splitting headache before the first drink is gone, but I see it on sale all the time.

I wonder if there would be any cost savings if I bought my own food-grade charcoal to filter something like Popov.

Go bang your head against the wall a dozen times to simulate the hangover from drinking cheap shit.

McCormicks or Dark Eyes?

It's not going to cost more than $15 dollars a handle. Just go to the liquor store and grab the cheapest bottle.

Go to a store, and look at the vodka isle. Below each bottle, there will be a little sticker with numbers on it. The one with the lowest number on it will be the cheapest, 10/10 times.
