Where can I buy a mobile graphics card for Asus notebook?

I have an Asus G1S-A1 laptop in which the videocard died.

Looked on ebay and couldn't find one.
Anyone have a clue where I can buy one? (What store)

Had an M8600 but would like something more powerful.

Any help is appreciated.

Is the card soldered in or is it a MXM card?

I take it that it's not under warranty anymore? I know they had 2 or 3 year warranties after mid-2006 and if you paid with something like an Amex, you'd get another year warranty.

That I don't know yet as I have yet to get the laptop.
It's one of these.

looking at the specifications it has: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...D=3332167&SID=

Graphics
GPU/VPU NVIDIA GeForce 8600M GT
Video Memory 256MB GDDR3 VRAM, TurboCache up to 512MB
Graphic Type Dedicated Card

This indicates a card that can be removed and replaced. Take it apart, find the card, take a picture and post so people here could tell you what type of connection it uses.
hope it is: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mobile_PCI_Express_Module

Most of the mid range cards (7600/8600/9600/etc) are MXM II. From what I've found, I think the best you'll be able to get is a 9650GT. If it's MXM III, you should be able to use anything your pocket book will allow.

The difference, IIRC, is the power connector (think PCI-E power connector) on the card. That's why the MXM III connectors are wider.
