Does anyone feel a little... sad perhaps that everyone and their dog has announced Haswell laptops, but nobody has announced a single Kabini laptop?

Going to be "bang head on table" dumb if these OEMs don't offer some solid 11.6-14 inch Kabini notebooks.

the usual 15.6" craptops that bobcat had been limited to...

why no ultrathin [mba/ub] formfactor with great battery life and display, for a reasonable price ~$499-599 range? AMD needs their own ultrathin initiative.

Man being on these forums for 3-4 months have left me jaded...is this normal?

Seem to me your attitude now pretty much what it has been from the start.

Its pretty much a craptop, hate to break it to you.

768p resolution,

no USB 3.0

47 watt hour battery

Its a very basic laptop (not necessarily bad) and hp's budget line isn't known for quality.

Yeah, I dont want a 15.6 budget kabini laptop.

I want something in the 11.6 to 13 inch range with a nice screen. And with a user replaceable hard drive so that I can put an SSD in.

It's more telling to me that only one (rather niche) OEM has announced a Temash Tablet, while clovertrail+ Tablets were everywhere. It appears AMD may still need to put some work in developing relationships with the OEMs.

Yes, but the laptop doesn't have the ports.

They simply messed their doc , why would they sell
USB3 replicators if there s no USB3 at all , also
why would they remove a feature that cost nothing..?..

More like a lot of these OEM's are still in bed with Intel, for what reasons I dunno but I do hope nothing shady is going on yet again :sneaky:

I really hope there is a Kabini refresh of this. These CPUs were basically made for 11~12", imho.

AMD indicated at Computex that OEM would be announcing new laptops and tablets in the coming weeks. Other OEMs are waiting until their inventories are ready as well as timing their release with Microsoft Windows 8.1 update.

HP announced a new low cost series of 10-point touchscreens that shatter the $400 price barrier.

Lenovo also showed an AMD Kabini 15" S415 model laptop that has a discrete Radeon graphics which would have the performance to compete against many Intel i3/i5 laptops.

If you want to find more up coming models, google Lenovo Kabini A6-5200 and you will find resellers are preparing more laptops that are not yet announced.

One thing that should be noted is that AMD should get kudos for trying to get 1920x1080 HD displays on $500 laptops as standard. Since Jaguar Kabinis are priced like Intel Atoms, OEMS are allowed to use better overall system components on laptops and still make a price target of around $500.

Forget Kabini, where are the Richland laptops? The only model I can see available is the MSI GX70 and it's been available for weeks. Is Intel back to its old tricks of bribing companies to not use AMD parts?

The desktop Richlands are out, there does not appear to be a supply problem. Where are they?

fusion238 may be right, might just be holding back most models for Windows 8.1 update. Will be a real puzzle if OEMs miss the back to school window, though.

The Mini-PC type touch laptops from MSI and HP based on AMD Kabini/Temash look pretty cute and while small, they pack a lot of features.

MSI S12T Multi-Touch with SATA, USB3, Bluetooth 4.0

11"6 netbooks are the ideal form factor for Kabini ;
i ll surely grab one with a 4C/1.5G , it s far better
value than a tablet and i need the kb.

Could be nice for this. For anything larger I would want more cpu grunt. If they could get an 11.6 in with a touchscreen for around 400.00, that would be a nice package.

HP said thatr they would launch an agressively priced
11"6 touchscreen netbook at 400$ RP , i guess that
this is the model on the post above that looks to have
also a A4 1.5Ghz version , the most interesting since
we can always downclock it to reach Temash TDP
with surely a bigger battery as advantage.

The only problem with the HP laptop above is that it uses the 1GHz version, which can turbo up to 1.4Ghz. I think anything less than 1.5Ghz might just be too slow.
