Where are desktop pics stored?

I have a picture on my desktop right now, just like many of you do, but I did the classic "right-click" and "Set as desktop" way of doing it, is the picture stored somewheres on my hard drive? I'd like to have the same desktop pic on my laptop... let me know ASAP,

Search for a file on your Windows partition called "Internet Explorer Wallpaper.bmp" (assuming you are using IE).

If you are using a Win9x/ME, it will be in the Windows directory. If you are using Win2K/WinXP, it can be in a few places.

I'm running XP, I just ran a search and the comp couldn't find it.
I'll look the hard way...

don't do the "right click > set as wallpaper" thing.. .you end up with two wallpapers and you can never get rid of the top one because, like you said, you can't find it.

If you are using Mozilla or Netscape there should be a "Mozilla/Netscape Wallpaper.bmp" in the "C:\Windows\" directory.

If you use IE the "Internet Explorer Wallpaper.bmp" is in "C:\Documents and Settings\*insert user name*\Application Data\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\".
