Where are all the pre-launch Z68 reviews?

Why does it seem like no one has anything to say about Z68?

I swear that I always see mainboard reviews well before the products show up, but no one has anything substantial at all right now.

This makes it even stranger that Tom's Hardware had a preview back on March 10th!

Mostly I just want to know which board I need to snatch off the shelves the day it becomes available. May 11th (Intel's Z68 launch date) is actually my birthday, haha.

Are we sure that May 11 is when the mobos launch at retail or is it just when Intel ships chipsets to mobo mfrs?

I'm fairly sure it's the product launch because there have already been a few Z68 boards wandering the streets in Asia. Seems unlikely they'd have finished products already if the manufacturers don't have access to stock.

I'm assuming you're talking about the Z68 motherboards from Gigabyte? There has been some speculation that those boards are simply P67 mainboards with Z68 chipsets (as those don't have any video output).

ASRock is already advertising their Z68 board in the banner ads on this messageboard. Seems odd they would do that before the chipset officially launches. Not that the Z68 chipset is a secret, but still odd.

NZ's best computer store has some Gigabyte ones listed as in stock.

Why is it designated " B3 " ?

Is the Z68 launching with a B3 stepping, or is that just some feel-good PR thing ?

They actually mentioned during the P67/H67 B2 fiasco that "Z68 is already at B3 stepping". It was in an article here on Anandtech, not that I can find it right now.
