Whenever I restart, my internet homepage changes to some sorta search page, no matter what I do to change it in the registry back to default, or use tools like Xteq to change the internet explorer defaults. I have run adaware etc already, does not help.

Any help?? Thanks in advance.

Run Ad-Aware & SpyBot

Edit: Oops, didn't see the etc in your post so I assume you've run both then and not just Ad-Aware.

In that case I'd definitely do virus scan and also make sure that you have the latest updates fro Ad-Aware, SB and AV.

You have a virus that messing up in your registry. This happened to someone at my work. Go to www.sarc.com and search for your symptoms. Note down the exact ip address or website that your homepage goes to.. .and then search sarc for this.

You need to download and run Hijack This. Had that happen to me once and neither AdAware nor Spybot could fix it. Hijack This cleared it up, though!

link for hijack this? I ran Ad-aware & spybot and found a bunch of craps. Another question, some times, NT authority would shut my system down in the middle of me doing something. I can't stop it, it's not damaging (I think it's just an annoying virus), but would like to get rid of it.

Use windows update to fix the NT authority problem...could be the blaster worm. Look around for a "de-worm" program
