I just moved. I went from Charter Spectrum to Time Warner Spectrum a few cities away (why multiple Spectrums still?). The install tech who looked at my HDHomeRun Primes said, "Wheh da TiVo?" I said it's for a computer-based DVR and he gave me the oddest look then said he needed to check the line outside and he disappeared. The people on the phone were great. The second tech echoed the first and said he'd need his supervisor there (who arrived quickly), and 3 hours later I had Internet and 6 tuners going (in the past at other places I always self-installed and it took 5 min. - TW fail!)

The 2nd tech. who had to call his boss smelled very badly of just plain BO, and he always wanted to see what his boss and I were doing, over our shoulders!

I would want to know if my customer detected my lack of cleanliness and didn't want me so near all the time.

I had to air my place out.

Would you say anything?

Before there was deodorant people never cared because they were use to the odor. Now with our sterilized sanitized snowflake society we sandblast our teeth and carwash our anuses.

Some people stink, and they can't help it. Either he doesn't care, or can't help it. There's only negatives in saying something.

I would not say anything, it's embarrassing for them. If it's hot outside, they probably can't help it as they are doing physical work in and out and just got back from another job. Not like they have time to go home and shower after each job. I know for me, I can use all the antiperspirant in the world but when it's super hot I still sweat like a pig.

No anus carwashes in my city, sadly. Could use a buff.

I agree, and this guy took it to the extreme by also talking with breath I can only describe as face-melting. I couldn't care less about others' grooming, and IMO if I have a job closely dealing with customers I'm going to not smell, bad or 'good.'

I'm bothered more by perfume (cologne) or cigarette smoking odor. BO should dissipate when the guy leaves, but those linger for hours at least.

Years back I worked at a location where I had to take the elevator up to the 13th floor. In the afternoons it would be difficult when women, haven not showered that morning, would be coming back from lunch in the summer wreaking of BO. They thought they could just hide it with perfume, but that just made it worse. I've stepped into elevators where the person's perfume was so strong it perfumed the elevator in addition to their BO after they had already left. Heck, I'd imagine it smelled less worse at the zoo. Some people just don't care about their personal hygiene. If you stink you need to do something about it if you are going to be around others.

Now, I wouldn't said anything to the tech while he was there getting my service up and running, but I would have said something--anonymously--to the local cable company about how this technician set the tone of expectation in service. I do not bring stinking garbage into my home and I shouldn't be treated to stinking garbage in the form of a TW technician. Now how does one correct the stink when it imparts itself onto your home and lingers after said stinky tech has left? Reminds me of the Seinfeld episode where in the end his jacket and car are no longer wanted.

No i wouldn't say anything.

Why not? How is this guy supposed to improve himself if no one gives him any feedback on horrid BO. Maybe if someone did it would spare further victims in the future. Think of the children and other people who will be victimized by his BO because no one wanted to stand up and do whats right.

Because its not a big deal to me or a large duration of impact. Add in that some it may be due to culture, weather or accident and its not worth the time
