When you withdraw money from an ATM..

When you're withdrawing $100 or more, do you count the money to make sure it's correct? Yes or no and why?

I usually count it if there's not a lot of people in line. I do it even though the chances of the machine screwing is quite slim.

yeah I always count, got an extra $20 one time, but never again.

Every time.

Never received the wrong amount...but you never know.

Ok, if there's a descrepency, the bank is just going to take your word for it?

always count it, got an extra 20 once too ... and, silly fool, gave it back to the bank. i figured it might have belonged to the guy before me and he'd want it back.

yes they do...once i took $40 out and nothing came out...called my bank and they credited my account $40

They'll see the discrepancy in the system when they count the money. They probably won't give you the money right away, only when they can verify it.

Why would anyone take out less than the max? You are charged a fee at ATMs which do not belong to your bank. It's best to take out as much as you can each time. I took out $300 today.
