When you look at your fingers, do they remind you of people you know/people in your family? For some reason, I associate my index finger with my mom, the thumb with my dad, the middle with my oldest sister, the ring with my second oldest sister and the pinky with my youngest sister...

Well, I don't really *associate* them, but when I look at those fingers, I just happen to think of them, especially my index and middle finger... And yes, I hated my oldest sister for the most part...

You'll want to read Phantoms In The Brain by V.S. Ramachandran. Specifically Chapter 7 - The Sound of One Hand Clapping. It will describe the complex you are experiencing. Though you are only experiencing it on a slightly more subliminal level. I'd be very surprised if anyone else here knew what the heck you were talking about.

But definitely pick up that book next time you're around Barnes & Noble. If nothing else it's a very good read.
