McClellan? BWA HA HA HA HA HA!! What a worthless fvcking tool. He's just pissed now that his butt-buddy is gone. White House press conferences are total bullsh*t. I spoke w/a Chicago Tribune reporter this past Sunday and he said the same thing. He even added that the media was complicit in allowing the Propagandist to spew as much as he has without any sort of organized critical review or questioning. He said they were afraid of asking the tough questions for fear of being kicked out of the press conferences for the future.

What a coward.

What a pointless baited question.

The media is in classic form tonight. Total lack of concentration.

Bush speaks about SS reform and gas prices.

Question about Iraq, terrorism, no child left behind.

AADD ftw

Guess what, the president isn't a dictator who gets to dictate what the media's questions should be or what the national debate should be. The question was fair. The chimp campaigned on making things safer...

And perhaps if the president held more news conferences, this wouldn't be such a problem. You hold a press conference one a decade, you have a decade's worth of questions to answer.

That's actually the only part of the speech I caught and it was an atypical political response. Normally a politician put on the spot like that will bumble through the answer with gibberish but Bush simply ignores it altogether, just like he did in one of his debates about naming some ways he's failed.
What a pointless baited question.
It was actually a very savvy and perfectly fair question. It's a straight forward concern a lot of people have.
Bush speaks about SS reform and gas prices.

Question about Iraq, terrorism, no child left behind.
If his thing tonight was about SS reform and fuel and not an open-ended discussion, you're right that the media should know better, but he should have either answered the question intelligently or simply told them to stay on topic.

Where did I say he could? However I would have expected people there to ask questions relating to the topic of the speech. But what else should I expect to a bunch of people with a memory capacity of a fish?

It's a press conference. In the USA. Where reporters are still allowed to do their jobs.

Dude I'd like to see GWB in a press conference with Paxman et al, then you'd see reporters doing their jobs!

(Paxman is a very acerbic interviewer in the UK for you non Brits)

I started watching it and got this ill feeling in my stomach and lower intestine, and decided to go out with the g/f. I'm sure The Daily Show will fill me in on all the highlights. That is if you guys don't beat them to the punch.

What are you talking about? He blamed his own lack of an energy policy on Clinton about 22 min. into the speech last night! And how does not bashing Clinton have anything to do with more people dying due to terror attacks on this president's watch?

He's been in office for over 4 years and has had control of the House and the Senate and the only legislation of any note he's passed are:

1) Tax Cuts - ill-advised and ill-timed. Social Security "lockbox" could have been created and this whole SS propaganda tour of his would have been unnecessary. Instead, meaningless tax cuts have only furthered the national debt.
2) Patriot Act - Result: Record number of wire taps NOT related to terrorism (side benefit of a rider protecting his corporate buddy, Eli Lilly)
3) Tort Reform - Sticking it to the victim and letting insurance companies and negligent/incompetent doctors and hospitals get away with mere pittances in payouts
4) Bankrtupcy Reform - Gift to the credit card companies and screwing people who've lost their job or now work at much lower wages or have been stuck with tremendous medical bills due to lack of insurance coverage (as proper coverage was unaffordable or unavailable)

Other things he's managed to do is weaken regulations to allow our air and water to become more polluted as a benefit to his corporate buddies.

I'm failing to see where this administration has done anything positive for the individual.

Maybe, maybe not. But Bush makes one thing certain. Being a moron is clearly the key to being the worst president in history.

Not being the posterchild for arrogance and hypocrisy wouldn't hurt either.
If you think he's just got a problem with speaking, you're fooling yourself. It's obvious he has no clue what he's talking about 99% of the time. A retard in a suit is still a retard.

Bush is a bullsh!t artist. Period. He's been skating by all his life and he can't change now even if he wanted to.

If we had a press in this country they would have embarassed this numbskull into resigning by now.

What is about this man that makes people believe that he is qualified to lead? I try to watch with an open mind and listen for clues that might indicate that he really is in control of his duties and responsibilities. His explanations and excuses are superficial and leave me feeling uneasy. He is no comfort in a world that demands leadership that exudes confidence.

He hasn't sucked as badly as other speeches.

He does suck and always will--its clear that the man is an idiot. Why all these orchestrated questions? Why hasnt someone asked, "where's Osama, or where's Zarquari?" At least someone asked about high terrorist attack rates, which was carefully dodged by President Dumb Dumb--he's not my president.

Unless you're from somewhere other than the United States, he's your president. I say that with great sadness, depression and disaffectation, but it remains true for all Americans nonetheless.

Bush is a political genius.

He took expectations from the public that the President argue and defend his positions to'what can you expect from an idiot?

His genius is that he has no shame.

He was elected by, supposedly, fifty one percent vs. forty nine percent. That makes him POTUS. But the more I hear from this idiot the more I realize he is in reality corporate America's president, not ours.

Nope, not for me. I had no hand in the "election" of this idiot--TWICE! THe average amurikkkan is an idiot and President Dumb Dumb is tantamout to this fact. 51% of amurikkkans are idiots. Where are the Bushies to support this mans "press conference?" Watching that made me painfully aware of the fact that 51% of amurikkkans are simply retarded.
