no. pussy. and 2/4 was better than 3/6 which was better than 7.

3/6 was dumb because the main character left all the time and all of your guys just end up double casting ultima for the endgame.

That might be enough by itself to make me spend $600 on a console. As much as I hate Sony anymore, I do love FF7.

I refurbed an old Gateway 800Mhz machine and slapped a Voodoo 4 4500 in there just to get the absolute best FF7 and FF8 experience. I mainly did it for FF7 however.

Microsoft should just pay through the nose to get the rights to port all the Final Fantasy games over to the 360. Also, notice that I said "might be enough". I do hate Sony with a passion. Almost as much as I hate Starforce (see sig).

I hated FF7 and the intro was weak.

Zelda and Sword of Vermillion for life!!! Those games bring tears to my eyes.

If you remember Square made a tech demo of FF7 opening for the PS3 for E3 2005 I think it was. I then remember reading an article that said something like "what started out as a tech demo has become a reality", referring to FF7 and apparantly they're remaking it for PS3, or at least that's what was being hinted at. If I can find the exact quote and source I'll post it.

Perhaps, but with so many games and genres available you just can't call it the "greatest game" definitively. I perfer to call it the greatest console RPG ever made, that narrows it down massively and more people would agree with it (except the FF7 haters of course, but they're outnumbered by at least 5:1 and most of them are just bitter about all the hype it got, they don't really hate the game)

I remember trying to beat the game without knights of the round (I didn't know about it). The final battle took like an hour cause I had to cast Bahamut Zero like 30 times. Ahh, the memories. I remember spending one night trying to get a golden chocobo after that too.

You can see the video of the ps3 intro on youtube. IMO, it'd be a mistake to remake the game. A sequel would be cool though.

FF7 is amazing-end of story, and I would argue it might be the best video game I have ever played- single player at least, and it is definitely the best RPG I have ever played.

When I hear the Zelda theme anytime, I do..

ok, I lied... but everytime I hear it, it brings me back to when I was a kid playing Zelda on my NES and didn't have the slightest worry in the world. Oh man, I swear, no game has ever been able to recapture the feeling I get when I played any of the Zelda games. It just reminds me of a happier and simpler time... that theme has remained constant for every Zelda game and its a master piece...

Thats one thing Nintendo has going for it, the Nostalgia factor. Since Sega went out of the console business, Nintendo is the only company that can rightfully claim it.

I enjoyed FF2/FF3 (US), Chrono Trigger, and Secret of Mana (because we actually co-opped) better than FF7. Not to take anything away from it or anything. FF7 was a great one as well.

Chrono Trigger > * because of the lack of random encounters for the most part. The score for that game is great as well.

what!? you could always just use cloud's omnislash...

Now, try beating Emerald/ruby weapon without spamming KOTR. I will unconditionally state that that is impossible.

I've got about 23 playstation RPG's to play including wild arms, wild arms 2, grandia, xenogears, star ocean the second story, breath of fire 3, breath of fire 4, castlevania sofn, ff1, ff2, ffIV, chrono trigger, chrono cross, legend of dragoon, ff8, ff9, legend of legaia, ff5, ff6, valkyrie profile, suikoden, suikoden II. I love playstation rpgs, what can i say.

Interesting thing about Emerald Weapon - one of it's special attacks does damage proportional to the materia each character has. So the less materia = less damage.

Damn, I loved FF 2/4, 3/6 and 7. I haven't played past 7 though. I bought a Voodoo2 when I was in HS just to play FFVII.

Not to mention Chrono Trigger and Secret of Mana. Fantastic games.
