When you hear a "fizzing" in your head, what is that?

It probably has to do with sinus drainage, wax buildup in your ear, or ear fluid. Do you have a problem with hay fever or excessive ear wax?

It's Lupus.

I had something similar a month ago and assumed it was ear pressure being relieved. Then I discovered that it was a small fly inside of my ear.

Wow. Weird shit!
I actually have this quite often. No, it's not tinnitus either. For me it usually seems to come from dead center near the base of my skull. It really does sound like a can of soda fizzling.
I have had tinnitus before (ruptured ear drum). The sound and sensation is completely different. With the fizzle, I sometimes feel something. It's very strange. I do notice it tends to happen when I am hungry or very tired.

if it's happening before sleep... read up on astral projection, that's how you do it.

That isn't true. There is no fizzing during out of body experiences and it happening before sleep is not related.

Pretty certain it is a ingrown demon haunting your sinuses, seek a priest immediately.

While I am familiar with tinnitus, ear ringing, sinus pressure, and headaches; I have never experienced any other physical sensation in my head or heard a "popping" or "fizzing" sound from within my head.

What has been described in this thread does not seem common.
